About us

LONG EATON CAMERA CLUB has been established for over forty years, following the merging of the Long Eaton Co-Operative Camera Club and Long Eaton Trinity Camera Club in 1967.

During the lockdown period we are not meeting at the WI. Instead we are holding Zoom meetings, each Monday from 7.15 – 9.30pm. If you wish to join us please contact the Chairman, Paul at paul999mac@ntlworld.com. We have a photographic Theme each week and are looking to have speakers in the near future. The first 3 meetings are free.

Meetings take place every Monday evening from 7.30 – 10pm at the Women’s Institute, on Wilne Road in Sawley (conveniently placed near the Nag’s Head pub for after-club socialising!). Between September and May we meet here, and during the summer months we go out to take photographs while the weather is good and the nights are long. These evenings out are also used by members to learn from each other and pass on their knowledge and skills.

Club activities include: in-house monthly competitions, visiting speakers, and practical evenings.
Our membership fee is £40 per year, but if you are interested in joining the club then the first three meetings are free.

If you are interested in joining, then feel free to come along to the W.I to see us. All ages and abilities are welcome. If you would like to contact us, please do:

We are affiliated to the PAGB through The North and East Midlands Photographic Federation. NEMPF

  2. Hi Wendy, please accept the clubs apology for the delay in answering the query it was due to a oversight on this page.
Should you wish to ensure a quicker response we have a public Facebook page where more members can respond to you.
In answer to your question you will both be made very welcome. The program is above for this season if you wish to pick the day. Ask for me John Stuart or the club chairman Paul McLaughlin and we will make you welcome as will all the members.
Hope to see you both soon. Thank you for the enquiry.

  3. I would love to learn photography and join your club. I am a beginner and I need to buy a camera. I am looking forward to when things are back to normal.

    1. Samantha you would be made most welcome to any of our meetings. The summer programme will possibly have begun when lockdown is lifted. Please call one of the contact numbers for any enquiries or information
